Chat space information
From CrisisCommons Wiki
Project volunteers are using Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to communicate and collaborate in real time. Volunteers welcome. To use the chat, you can use a web-based system or download an IRC client program:
- Web Interface: http://irc.rhok.net (<-- just click there to join chat, Flash required)
- Recommended clients: Colloquy or X-Chat Aqua (Mac), mIRC (Windows), xchat2 (X Windows/Linux), Chatzilla FireFox addon
- Server: irc.rhok.net (standard ports) or 72.14.187.155 (if DNS is failing)
- Channels:
#crisiscommons-- default channel, for general chat#crisiscampleads-- for discussion among CrisisCamp city leads
- Project channels:
#ccrssa-- for RSS feed aggregator project for the UN#crisiswiki-- for the CrisisWiki project, out of NPR and Andy Carvin
- Jan 23 -- The Boston Team is having trouble connecting to irc.rhok.net, so we are connecting to:
- Server: irc.freenode.net
- Channels: #ccboston, (and a #cccommons for the moment)
