Chat space information

Project volunteers are using Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to communicate and collaborate in real time. Volunteers welcome. To use the chat, you can use a web-based system or download an IRC client program:

  • Web Interface: http://irc.rhok.net (<-- just click there to join chat, Flash required)
  • Recommended clients: Colloquy or X-Chat Aqua (Mac), mIRC (Windows), xchat2 (X Windows/Linux), Chatzilla FireFox addon
    • Server: irc.rhok.net (standard ports) or 72.14.187.155 (if DNS is failing)
  • Channels:
    • #crisiscommons -- default channel, for general chat
    • #crisiscampleads -- for discussion among CrisisCamp city leads
  • Project channels:
  • Jan 23 -- The Boston Team is having trouble connecting to irc.rhok.net, so we are connecting to:
    • Server: irc.freenode.net
    • Channels: #ccboston, (and a #cccommons for the moment)
