About the Effort

CrisisCommons, along with our friends in the greater technology volunteer community are able to support requests made by crisis response agencies in support response and recovery efforts of the Hurricane Irene.

This page is a collection of technology volunteer efforts and data resources. If you are a crisis response organization or agency and would like to make a request to CrisisCommons to be shared across the communities contribute your request here. Current Technology Volunteer Projects User-generated crisis content, data and/or visualizations are often created during crisis events by the public (including technology volunteers). Below is a listing of public sites where information and content is searched for or derived by the public. Information may not be validated or be prototype in nature. Most of these listings are not connected to local emergency response authorities.

Data Storage/Infrastructure Requests

  • Request for Development/Production Space: Through a partnership with Oregon State University's Open Source Lab, there is server space available for affiliated response projects supporting local authorities and humanitarian relief organizations.
