Sahana Disaster Management Portal

Crisis Commons Work
The idea is to record the needs, what is being donated, who is helping, etc.
Here is a link to the google spreadsheet.
This project was started by the non-programmer types at the LA Crisis Camp.
The hope is that this spreadsheet could be of value to programmers to put on maps, etc.
If this type of data is valuable, perhaps a next step is to make a front-end with instructions to allow addition to the spreadsheet; for instance, someone reading an article on the internet that mentions "Dr. XYZ is at ABC Orphanage at 123 Address in Haiti and can provide some medical assistance and temporary shelter" could add that information to the database.
Once that front-end is complete, it could be tweeted out for anyone that sees a need in the media can add to it.
This is not a novel idea, and likely something is farther along. If it's useful, take the data and run with it.
