As part of the [1] project, we recognize the need to mobilize community efforts quickly. One of the fastest ways to gather and inform is Twitter. As such, we're building a list of Twitter lists that can help to spread the word in specific communities in the event of crises.

The current plan is that the lists are going to end up on the @crisiswiki account. Since we can't all access that Twitter account, we're building the Twitter lists on this page of the Crisis Wiki: http://crisiswiki.jmace.net/Regional_Twitter_lists.

While we've started by adding a few people to DC and Baltimore lists, using directories like WeFollow and people with regional expertise we should be able to create the other lists pretty quickly. That's what's next on the agenda--building additional groups.

FYI: at present Jared Goralnick (@technotheory) and Andy Carvin (@acarvin) have access to the @crisiswiki Twitter account.

As part of the Crisis Wiki, we've created a Twitter account (@crisiswiki ) that has a series of Twitter lists with people/groups that can help to spread the word about fundraisers, crisis camps, and other other crisis response efforts.
